All about Eevee and Eeveelution

Eevee and its Evolutions

Eeveelution

Eeveelution or Eevee evolution is a unique concept which requires certain milestones in Pokemon Go. Although first evolution is pretty easy but later, it requires effort, time and off course candies. Anyhow, how to evolve Eevee is one of most desired question which a new trainer search on google, other search engines or social media sites.  A comprehensive review on eeveelution is as below:

Free style Evolution
Evolution without naming convention, advance level evolution or catch will be possible for just three possible random scenarios:

  1. Vaporeon
  2. Joltron
  3. Flareon

First Evolution

First evolution is pretty easy as you just have to rename eevee and see the magic.

  • Vaporeon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Rainer
  • Jolteon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Sparky
  • Flareon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Pyro
  • Espeon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Sakura
  • Umbreon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Tamao
  • Leafeon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Linnea
  • Glaceon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Rea
  • Sylveon is evolved once you rename Eevee as Kira

Subsequent Evolution

Once a naming convention is used to evolve an Eevee, a trainer has to put some efforts to achieve it.

Generation 1 (Vaporeon, Joltron and Flareon)

All about Eevee and Eeveelution

Generation I Evolutions

All you need is an Eevee and 25 candies but evolution into Vaperon, Joltron and Falreon is random.

Generation 2 (Umbreon and Espeon)

An article on All about Eevee and Eeveelution

Generation II Evolutions

A buddy walk is needed to achieve evolution into Umbreon and Espeon.  All you need is to make Eevee your buddy and walk for at least 10 K.  Before evolution, make sure that subject Eevee is still your buddy, it has completed 10K distance requirement, 25 candies are available for evolution and whether its night or day.  Once all the requirements are fulfilled then if it is evolved in night, one shall get Umbreon and during the day, its Espeon.  Once can easily understand whether its Umbrean or Espeon as both have different silhouette or body shape (Check Pokedex to understand its shape).

Generation 4 (Leafeon and Glaceon)

An article on All about Eevee and Eeveelution

Generation IV Evolutions

This is basically easy method but you may have to purchase Mossy or Glacial Lure Modules.  Each is available for 200 Poke Coins in the shop.

For evolution, all you have to do is to enable desired lure module in a Pokestop and be in the range of Pokestop.  Choose the Eevee to be evolved and achieve your results.  Bye the way Leafeon is evolved when we enable Mossy Lure Module on a Pokestop and similarly Glaceon requires a Glacial Lure Module on a Pokestop.

Generation 6 (Sylveon)

An article on All about Eevee and Eeveelution

Generation VI Evolutions

This is considered to be difficult and time consuming eeveelution.  It requires a trainer to make an Eevee its buddy and then earn 70 hearts.  In order to achieve the target of 70 hearts, you may have to use Poffin (available in store for 100 Pokecoins).  This will enable you to earn heart in staggering amount but you have to walk as well to get maximum benefit of it.

One of the tricks is to get few hearts daily, which are easily gettable within few minutes and then swap buddy.  Swapping does not reset the progress of Eevee.

Once the requirement is fulfilled, a trainer requires 25 Eevee candies to evolve it into Sylveon.

Direct Catch

On special events, Niantic provide opportunity to trainers to catch Eeveelution in wild and these are also available in Special Research and sometimes in event-based field research.
