Game play

Red Dead Redemption 2 is Rockstar Games most recent open world game that is set in 1899. The game is based on the “Wild West Era” filled with gunslingers, saloons, and cowboys. Rockstar Games has provided the player with many things to do whilst playing the game to ensure you never stop playing. From tiny details such as greeting people or even insulting them if you wish to things like robbing trains and performing heists.

Honor System in the Game play

In the game, there is an honor system where depending on how you choose to act around people and the actions you take. For example, if you continuously choose to insult the public, rob people, kill innocent civilians, and constantly pick fights then you will be regarded as dishonorable. However, if you choose to greet people, help others out, and stop local gangs from robbing others. Then you will be regarded as someone that is honorable. You can also choose to stay silent and be regarded as someone with neutral honor. There is even an online component to the game where you create your very own unique character and play with your friends or even others in the lobby.

Supplements along with the Main Story

There are many fun things to do in the game when you are not completing the main story. Considering the main character is a wanted outlaw, he lives in camp and in camp there are many things to do. Such as playing games like dominoes with the gang members. Also you may be simply interacting with gang members by either greeting them or antagonizing them. Greeting a gang member two times and then antagonizing them gives the funniest insults and will make you chuckle. However, antagonizing the gang members too much may cause them to dislike you. But you can always defuse the situation if you think you’re going too far with the insults. There are things such as hunting wild animals for their fur or their meat. And even stuff like exploring abandoned ranches for valuable items such as weapons or even gems.

Just exploring the world that Rockstar Games has provided to the player is an enjoyable experience as the world is very interactive. With many things going on in the game and you having an option to interfere or stay silent, Rockstar Games have made the game very interactive.

Robbing in the Game

Robbing is a big part of the game however; you are not the only one doing the robbing. There are instances in the game where other people can attempt to rob you. This may be either when you’re just passing by unwelcomed territory or a total set up. There are many things to rob in the game varying from things such as just regular people to saloons and even trains. Of course, with robbing that means the law is involved. That means you can either fight them off or run away from the scene, so you don’t get the law on you.

Buying or Purchasing

Also, you can buy many items from places like general stores or clothing stores. If you’re getting tired of the same look, its very easy to get an entire new look. There is a wide variety of clothing that’s available to you, including all different types of cowboy hats you can wear and equip. Not to mention, there are tons of side missions that the player has the option to complete that do not interfere with the main story.

Additional Features of Online Version of the Game

The game also has an online component where you create your very own cowboy or cowgirl. Hence you may interact with many other different people that are in the lobby with you. You can simply hop onto a mission with your friends. Hence you may start earning money to buy new clothes or guns or even horses for yourself.

Honor System of Online Version

The honor system in Red Dead Redemption 2 Online works a little differently compared to single player. Since each mission usually requires 4 players and everyone works together. Here your choice of either doing an honorable action or dishonorable action depends on the majority vote. If more people have selected the honorable act then everyone gets more honor and vice versa. Usually if they are both equal on votes then it is selected at random. Red Dead Online is fairly new and there are tons of updates that are being pumped out to make sure you continue playing.

Speaking of the reviews, it has an average rating of 97/100 which is the highest critically reviewed game as of right now. Visually stunning and with loads of content, Red Dead Redemption 2 will make sure you never get bored.
